Over the last two years, Adsett helped build, paint and patch Quality with us (his two children). During these years, he developed his own response to Quality in the form of four 1.19x1.65m paintings. Titled Matisse Acrylic; Midnight Blue, Titanium White after the acrylic paint used, these abstract paintings engage with the changing material and light conditions of the space.


Born in Tūranganui-a-Kiwa, Aotearoa NZ, in 1959, Peter Adsett has lived and worked in Australia since 1982, developing his painting practice. He exhibits regularly in both countries represented by PAULNACHE and Yuill|Crowley and has exhibited overseas in New York, Hong Kong and Aotearoa.
